Central Piedmont Community College

Central Piedmont Community College- students 16 years and above may take FREE classes.

  • These classes can earn the student "dual credit" (concurrent enrollment) in many cases, i.e., counting as high school credit and college credit (for example, taking Biology at CPCC counts as high school Biology and college Biology at the same time).
  • Check on each course for "transferability," if you happen to know the college in which your student has interest. Also some private schools will not accept a course that has counted for high school credit.
  • All North Carolina State Universities accept CPCC's college credit; however, a college within a given university will have the final word on whether a specific transfer credit from any other institution is applicable for a specific degree.
  • CPCC is a resource for those upper level high school courses that sometimes require special equipment or expertise to teach.
  • For the lates information, forms, dates for enrollment, etc. in the concurring ed program please visit the CPCC website www.cpcc.edu/hsprograms .  For additional information you may call Wanda Ray at 704-330-6362 or email her at wanda.ray@cpcc.edu .  For information concerning admissions and registration contact JoAnn Murray at 704-330-6877, joannmurray@cpcc.edu .
